Rowupdating and rowupdated
After searching long and hard I found a great article that solved my issue.Take a look at the page load if you are binding on post back then the values get updated before you are able to access them. But my user control doesn't understand anything about View Mode enumeration that the application uses! In Edit and Delete states, the data can either be modified or deleted respectively.
Even though it does work in my user control, I am still confused about its exact working. These individual user controls in turn use several update panels to make use of the partial page postbacks.
For more information about how to handle events, see Handling and Raising Events.
Please help me with writing a Row Updating function in C#, I don't know how to grab the current field's value and also get the old value for one of keys (which is Project Name for editing) of the selected row. the idea wa to don't allow binding the grid view after a post back.
But Row Editing and Row Canceling Edit events are fired without any problem. I have the following code in my user control: using System; using System. but I am a lot more confused now than before when the Edit event was raised when Update button was clicked.
Even the Row Command event is fired without any issues. Now the Update button raises the update event when the application NOT IN the View state automatically, which accidentally also happens to be the correct way of working for my user control!Hi All, I am posting again a much discussed topic related to Row Updating and Row Updated events of a gridview. Even then, the "Update" link on the user control doesn't fire "Update event" when the APPLICATION is in View state [: O]... [^o)] But I wasn't sure that this update event was actually fired...
