Updating a mainboard motherboard
Does anyone have any idea of what I should do next?
It's really frustrating that Lenovo hasn't supplied end users with the proper tools to do a clean motherboard swap on their own.
A few months ago I was forced to replace the mobo in my x61 - after a few false starts (I seriously thought my x61 was going to reject the new motherboard as a human body might reject a transplanted heart) I got everything back to normal.... When using System Update, I get "Error 75" - which a quick google search shows that my motherboard isnt reporting the right information for my system (so system update doesnt know what I need) I've been able to edit the registry which is a temporary fix, but I have to do this each time. I've dug around on the internet more and found that a utility called Hardware Maintenance Disk should be able to fix my problem if run via floppy at startup.
So you can go to their website to check for and download the latest drivers that you need for your motherboard.
